These DIY bunny bags are a quick and easy project you can do with supplies you probably already have.
I wanted to make something special for the grandkids for Easter this year. So I went searching for a project that would be quick and easy. One that would only require supplies I already had on hand. Since I couldn’t get out shopping.
And I found the perfect project…drawstring bunny bags!! Ashley, from Make It & Love It, shared her tutorial for these bags on Bernina’s website weallsew.com.
I used the pattern template and her tutorial to make my own DIY bunny bags.

So cute!! Best of all I made them with supplies I already had on hand. Basic sewing supplies, scrap fabric and ribbon are all you need.

I made one for each grandkid. In their favorite color.

Aren’t they adorable?!?
Ashley provides an excellent step by step tutorial with photos that makes it soooo easy to follow!! Even for a beginner. So “hop” over here for all the details and a downloadable pattern!!

I found some pink embroidery floss in my stash that I used for the nose. I didn’t have any black thread for the eyes so I used a fine tip marker. A face isn’t necessary but I thought just a white bag with colored ears was a little plain.
You could also just draw a face.

They were sooo much fun to do!!
Since I couldn’t get out shopping and my daughter really didn’t want candy for the kids I chose to put a bottle of foaming hand soap into each of their bags. I ordered the soaps online from Bath and Body Works.

Like most preschoolers they love to wash their hands.
And given the current situation, where hand washing is so important, soap seemed very appropriate this year.

These DIY bunny bags can be made for other occasions too. Great for birthdays or baby showers!! A great alternative to paper gift bags. How will you use your DIY bunny bag?
